You can green lane in a 4×4, a motorbike or a quad. These FAQs are answered from the perspective of a 4×4 car owner/driver and not a motorbike or quad rider.

| Is green laning bad for the environment? |
Driving a car for a hobby I suppose is bad for the environment. However, I plant trees to offset my carbon foot-print. so my personal contribution is either net-zero or negative. I’ll write all about it at some point. |
| What is green laning? | Using your vehicle to access “green lanes” as a hobby. |
| Where can I go green laning near me? | That’s easy. Join GLASS (Green Lane Association) and use Trail Wise 2. That lists all the BOATs and UCRs that are near you. |
| What shall I wear to go green laning? | That depends on the time of the year & the weather. Usually you are in your car, so your normal clothes based on the current weather are fine. However, remember you’ll be jumping out to open and close gates. You also need to remember that the weather in the valley may be a lot different to the weather on top of the hills. |
